COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR INTER-BETON

Inter-Beton is part of the HeidelbergCement Group - the world’s leading producer of sand and gravel and one the largest producers of cement and concrete. The HeidelbergCement Group is also active in Belgium through CBR (cement) and Sagrex (aggregates).
Inter-Beton is the marketleader in Belgium for ready-mixed concrete in terms of volume, product range and concrete knowledge.
Your key accountabilities and tasks:
Strategic leadership
- Provide leadership to the sales, marketing & internal sales teams, fostering a high level of engagement, ownership and accountability (Total 40 FTE’s);
- Manage 4 direct reports using clearly outlined objectives, targets and performance measures which are reviewed regularly;
- Proactively oversee and facilitate personal development plans for his/her team;
- Play an active role in Inter-Beton Management team to implement the newly defined vision;
- Build-up, maintain and develop relationships with key accounts, representing Inter-beton and HeidelbergCement Benelux towards customers and third parties at events and federation meetings in order to reinforce the positive image of Inter-Beton/HC Benelux.
Sales and distribution
- Oversee development of Customer Account Management Plans to achieve operational availability, optimal asset utilization and service levels;
- Provide monthly sales forecast, order book position and competitor analysis in line with commercial reporting requirements;
- Achieve highest levels of customer service whilst maintaining efficient operating costs;
- Work closely with Operations Directors and logistic department to ensure effective customer service and use of resources;
- Achieve agreed levels of volume, market share, price and margin.
Commercial Excellence
- Design and implement a standard sales process ensuring a structured planning of account management, including systematic margin & pricing
review; - Implement a group CRM (Dynamic 365) ensuring the full buy-in of the sales organization to the tool and related processes.
Marketing & technical support
- Develop a clear value proposition by market segment and ensure that his/her teams have the necessary tools to promote and capture this value;
- Ensure solid technical support is delivered to targeted customer groups;
- Identify opportunities for differentiation through service or product innovation and implement plans to leverage on them;
- Make sure Inter-Beton is duly represented in key federations and normalization authorities to be on top of future trends;
- Manage customers claims and ensure high degree of customer satisfaction.
Compliance
- Ensure all statutory legislation and company regulations are adhered to with respect to all sales activities.
We are looking for the following profile:
Education:
- Master Degree.
Experience
- Previous relevant sales team management experience (10 years minimum);
- Demonstrable track record to implement structured sales processes and engage sales teams on a commercial excellence journey;
- Strong commercial focus with responsibility for business development and profit delivery.
Management/ Leadership Skills
- Ability to operate at strategic management level;
- Motivational, exemplary leadership skills and proven people management ability;
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Practical and results focused;
- Creative and open to new ideas;
- English/French and Dutch speaking.
The role holder is also expected:
- to comply with all aspects of the HC Compliance Policy;
- to ensure that all the sales activities are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place;
- to update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required to comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company.
