To maintain a smooth supply of items used in Surgical Custom Paks (fully customized procedure paks that contain all components needed to perform an ophthalmic surgery procedure) we are hiring a Lead Component Planning for our manufacturing site in Puurs (Belgium).

Responsibilities/Job description:
As a Lead Component Planning within Alcon, you are accountable for smooth supply of all Custom Paks in EMEA by ensuring component availability of the 1100 active components used in the Custom Paks.
You will take the lead in the coordination and execution of component planning activities for all Custom Paks produced at the Belgium Custom Pak manufacturing site.
You will take the daily operational lead of our 3 component planners.
The Lead Component Planning is the subject matter expert for component related processes and owner of all involved KPI’s.
As a successful Lead Component Planning, you will be able to:
  • Lead a team of 3 component planners on daily basis.
  • Manage the component inventory (financially and in coverage).
  • Coordinate the ordering of components including the management of relationship with suppliers.
  • Manage component availability (intercompany and third party)
  • Work together with Global S&OP, Marketing and Procurement Departments managing component shortages and initiate solutions.
  • Define local inventory targets and safety stocks per component type
  • Own the Inventory budget
  • Coordinates the process for creation of new Custom Paks and changes to existing Custom Paks
  • Coordinate the delivery and reception priorities of components to the inbound Warehouse
  • Overview and approve component invoices.
  • Define and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Take the local lead in global component rationalization projects.
  • Have a huge impact on service level towards our end customers by closely working together with the Lead Production Planning.
  • Be the spokesperson during cGMP and ISO audits.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have a master degree (or Bachelor degree with proven experience)
  • Minimum 2 years experience/preferred 5 years of relevant experience in planning of a complex manufacturing site.
  • Communicate fluently in Dutch and English (Knowledge French and German is an advantage)
  • Proficient in SAP MM/PP (Master Data, Material Requirements Planning, Purchasing) with some cross-functional skills in WMS, QM, BI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working within matrix structure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands on attitude, ability to operate with minimal supervision and across different geographical & cultural backgrounds.
