For a booming Belgian medical device company that depends heavily on their data in developing a next-gen monitoring sensor for blood levels, we are looking for a team lead or specialist in data science. My client is dealing with complex and challenging data. They use state of the art methods to model their data, optimize and release ML algorithms on it. Do you have experience with signal processing, chemo-metrics, spectrometrics, or PAT and do you want to contribute in developing next gen monitors improving patients’ lives? Then this might be the next step in your career for you?

Responsibilities
  • Mathematically identify the dynamic behaviour of biological systems
  • Development of mathematical engineering tools and numerical algorithms, using algebra, statistics, optimization, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence
  • Biosystem data Analysis
  • Statistical modelling:
  • Supervised learning: decision trees, logistic regression, classification
  • Unsupervised learning: clustering, dimensionality reduction
Requirements
  • Science / Mathematics / Engineering degree related to (biomedical) engineering and/or data modelling and/or signal processing
  • In-depth knowledge of (non-)linear signal processing
  • In-depth knowledge in the modelling of dynamical systems
  • Relevant experience in a similar function
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques
  • Experience in data-driven modelling and machine learning is a plus
  • Experience with (Near-Infrared) spectroscopy is a plus
  • Experience with chemo-metrics is a plus
  • Familiarity with neural network and deep learning modelling is a plus
  • Prior work experience with (international) medical device companies or life science companies in general is a plus.
  • Team player
  • Proficient knowledge of written and spoken English - working language is English
