The Finance Director oversees all financial activities of the Company, providing strategic insights and ensuring the financial health of the organization over the long term. He leads a team of 4 people, reports directly to the CEOand acts as a trustworthy representative towards Airbus group and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Lead the forecast process by establishing 5 years budget and financing scheme, in line with strategic goals.
  • Provide financial analysis to support decision-making by the management team.
  • Regularly update financial forecasts to reflect changing business conditions and growth projections.

Financial and performance Management

  • Manage treasury through cash flow predictions, optimizing cash on hand and cash out timing.
  • Provide sound analysis and KPIs to operations to monitor their financial performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to evaluate project’s performance and budget compliance.
  • Support Capex ROI calculation and costs reduction projects.

Reporting and Compliance

  • Provide local and group financial reporting, ensuring internal control requirements.
  • Prepare and present the financial dashboard to CEO, executive committee and board of directors.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with Local GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including tax aspects.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, financial experts and regulatory bodies.

Risk Management

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to reduce their impacts.
  • Monitor and manage financial exposures related to foreign exchange.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop and train the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and integrity.
  • Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance team and across departments.

Shared services

  • Coordinates shared services activities to other Airbus entities in Belgium and identify synergies.

Skills

  • Fluent in French and English
  • Excellent Leadership, management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • IT minded and proficient with data management
  • Good knowledge of Belgian accounting requirements

Required experience

  • Finance or engineering degree
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, in audit and/or business controlling
  • Track record of hand-on achievements
  • Experience with group requirements in terms of internal control and reporting
  • Experience with growth and change management is a plus
