Functie


The Financial Controller is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting functions of all operations in Belgium and supports the management team Belgium and the Finance Manager in the full spectrum of responsibilities.

The Financial Controller is responsible for:

  • Follow-up and review of the G/L team in Vilvoorde;
  • Developing a strong and professional team;
  • Managing the monthly USGAAP reporting process and the preparation of local statutory accounts (including disclosure and tax schedules). Reporting in French, Dutch and US GAAP;
  • Coordinate external and internal audit and delivering audit evidence;
  • Execute and coordinate a strong system of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX);
  • Identifying and resolving accounting and reporting issues;
  • Leading and participating in projects in the area of financial accounting and reporting;
  • Support / substitute the manager finance in his responsibilities;
  • Reporting of figures, and explaining variances with budget and last month.


Profiel


Education: University degree in Finance or Accounting

Professional:

  • 4-6 years’ experience in accounting/reporting function, preferably including big four public accounting experience and/or similar experience in a corporate finance function;
  • Experience with US GAAP is a plus;
  • Hands-on experience with financial accounting and reporting processes in a dynamic multinational environment;
  • Understanding of local statutory reporting and tax requirements in Belgium;
  • Experience in reporting in different accounting guidelines;
  • Team builder, strong people manager;
  • Fluent in French, Dutch and English.
