Job Description

As R&D Engineer, you will be part of the innovation team that develops new products and solutions for Carmeuse’s customers. The team is developing mineral-based products and solutions answering needs in a wide range of applications as steel industry, chemical industry, environment or agriculture applications. You will lead innovation projects, from lab-scale development up to industrial-scale implementation. You’ll participate in the innovation process from ideation and brainstorming, through business opportunities assessment and selection of the future innovation projects.

You’ll be based in Belgium in Louvain-La-Neuve (and Seilles), and you will report to the Innovation lead.

YOUR CHALLENGE
  • Contribute to idea s’ generation, keeping time for creativity and out of the box thinking. Implement innovation process from innovative ideas to new product development ;
  • Leading and managing R&D projects following a stage-gate process, ensuring regular reporting on project progress and outcomes;
  • Set up and follow experimental plan s together with lab technician team, give interpretation and conclusions of results;
  • Keeping and developing scientific and technical knowledge in various domain s of expertise, reading scientific papers and attend scientific congresses and webinars;
  • Provide support in the domain of Intellectual Property related to ongoing activities;

YOUR PROFILE
  • University or engineer degree in chemistry or material science, a PhD in related domain is a plus.
  • 1 to 5 years experience or more in Research and Development or technical and scientific support
  • Experience or technical to scientific knowledge in on e or many of the following industries is a plus : inorganic chemistry, industrial minerals, cement, lime, steel making, non-ferrous, glass and ceramics and/or environmental treatments.
  • Languages : French ( f luent read/speak) and English ( f luent read/write/speak)
