About the Role:

Are you a tech-savvy PhD or Master’s graduate itching to explore the world beyond the lab? Do you want to apply your deep technical expertise while trading the whiteboard for networking events and boardrooms? Welcome to the Business Development Manager role at Huawei!

This isn’t a sales gig—it’s a hybrid position where you’ll merge your technical chops with strategic thinking. Your playground? Europe and the EMEA region. Your mission? Scout for cutting-edge semiconductor startups, research collaborations, and investment opportunities while bridging the gap between tech and business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Scout & Connect: Engage with European startups, tech companies, knowledge hubs, and venture capitalists (VCs). Think of yourself as a treasure hunter for innovation.
  • Evaluate & Collaborate: Organize technical evaluations and due diligence alongside Huawei experts and HQ teams. You’ll have a front-row seat to emerging tech.
  • Explore & Represent: Accompany HQ colleagues on business trips, blending your technical background with a knack for relationship-building. Bonus: you get to travel! ✈️
  • Track & Report: Dive into market trends, track progress in key domains, and deliver insights to HQ in reports that are both concise and impactful.

Your Toolkit:

  • Education: A Master’s degree is required (PhD is a big plus!). Backgrounds in engineering, electronics, or economics will help you hit the ground running.
  • Languages: Chinese and English are essential (we’re a global team, after all). French and/or Dutch? That’s the cherry on top!
  • Mindset: Curiosity is key. You’re comfortable leaving your research comfort zone to build relationships and explore opportunities.
  • Experience: Business development experience is helpful, but not mandatory. We’re more interested in your technical expertise and willingness to learn the ropes of strategic networking.
