Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Procurement Officerto expand our Procurement team. This role focuses on the operational side of procurement, including managing daily purchasing activities, supporting supplier sourcing, coordinating bids, and handling contract logistics. It offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience across various areas of the procurement process within a fast-paced biotech environment.

Key Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the day-to-day procurement and contracting activities. Activities will include sourcing bids, project scope determination and execution, review and recommendation of potential suppliers, and price negotiations.
  • Responsible for the execution of various types of contracts and ensure that language and pricing are consistent and compliant with corporate guidelines, are well defined, and are in the interests of the projects.
  • Act as first line support for study teams on legal, financial, and business-related matters.
  • Support the Procurement function in RFIs and RFPs in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Process purchase quotes and orders in SAP and coordinate contract execution.
  • Assist in managing supplier relationships and maintaining accurate supplier records.
  • Coordinate cross-functional input during tendering, evaluation, and negotiation processes.
  • Support the Head of Procurement with reporting, spend analysis, and process improvements.
  • Contribute to building a culture of operational excellence, transparency, and collaboration.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

Who are you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Preferably a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, or a similar role (biotech, pharma, or life sciences sector experience is an advantage).
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
