Job Description

  • That as a lead MS Exchange Engineer you help set up and operate both Teams, Exchange and our M365 platform for the entire Group in terms of quality.
  • We are at the cradle of the expansion of our M365 environment for Communication, collaboration & digital workplace, and that entails new needs, also within our IT organization. Projects have been launched to move from on prem to the cloud, and for that we need an experienced Exchange engineer who can make this assignment a success with the multi-project team.

Lead engineer for Exchange online and mail environment:

Getting up to speed in our current mail flow environment (Forcepoint, Postfix, etc) & the linked system

Assistance to the Solution IT Architect in developing the transition architecture & migration plan for the transition from our own Mail & Calendar platform to Exchange Online (in the lead for Exchange).

Taking overall technical lead (low level design & migration plan), supported by infrastructure team.

Setting up the new transition architecture in our different environments (test, syst), validation, possible adjustments & iteration of original plan of action

You become lead engineer of our as-is Exchange on prem & Exchange Online and Teams and receive knowledge transfer and support from the current infrastructure team.

Scripting engineer:

  • Transfer of PowerShell scripts currently supported by infrastructure team (Joiner/Mover/Leaver scripts, reporting, licensing, etc)
  • Adjust scripting for the new architecture (JML etc) so that everything can be automated to the maximum
  • Set up the transition architecture & scripts in production
  • Writing new scripts & automations (e.g. ongoing project to improve licensing but not limited to that)

support:

Incident follow-up and migration support

  • 3rd line support (ongoing) for Exchange backend incidents, also after migration
  • 3rd line support (ongoing) for Teams backend (deep dive troubleshooting, help for escalation to commtel, etc)
  • location: Zwijnaarde, Halle or Haasrode, of which Halle at least once a week. We expect at least 2 days at the office, the other days working from home is possible in mutual consultation.
