The car industry is an exciting environment and is undergoing major changes related to, i.a., connected cars, mobility as a service, autonomous driving, fuel cells, electric and hybrid vehicles, etc. The management of data, including our customers’ personal data, is a key driver to these activities and a strong data protection and privacy compliance is essential. This requires first class legal support and offers attractive opportunities for a dynamic lawyer willing to participate in these major new business developments.
TME’s Privacy team is part of the Legal & Compliance Division. It supports all TME divisions and affiliates to protect the privacy of our customers and employees and operate in compliance with the privacy laws. The Privacy Team is a valuable strategic partner to the business in the development of new products and solutions.
The Legal & Compliance Division is a dynamic and internationally diverse team, which works closely with the business. It provides high quality legal support and advice to the management and business divisions of TME, as well as to its manufacturing and sales & marketing entities in Europe.
We are looking for a Paralegal to provide high quality support to the Privacy Team and the broader Legal & Compliance Division. Paralegals perform various duties and tasks that directly support lawyers, including creating, maintaining, and organizing their files and databases, conducting relevant research, and drafting documents. In this role,
- You manage the databases (general ones or privacy-specialised ones, e.g. OneTrust) as well as Sharepoint sites, related to data privacy;
- You manage, analyse and organise large amounts of data and prepare reports and summaries
- You liaise directly and pro-actively with the business and corporate divisions to support and assist them in the management and compliance activities related to privacy;
- You support the drafting and reviewing of data processing contracts (Data Processing Agreements, Joint Controller Agreements, etc.) and other documents;
- You take an active role in the completion and administration of the company’s record of processing activities;
- You support employee training programmes to raise their compliance awareness;
- You support the improvement of existing policies and procedures;
- You assist with projects and co-ordinate actions involving multiple stakeholders;
- You actively conduct/support and implement projects towards the automation of internal processes;
- You will be in charge of responding as first line to queries from the business divisions;
- You provide general administrative support to the Privacy Team and, generally, to the broader Legal & Compliance Division
Your Profile
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant;
- You have experience in an international environment;
- You are fluent in English (TME business language). Any other language is an asset (French and/or Dutch being an advantage);
- You have good organisation skills, are accurate and efficient;
- You are pro-active and take improvement initiatives;
- You are able to work independently;
- You enjoy working with people across the organisation,;
- You are familiar with managing and organising databases, electronic document management and filing systems;
- You are process oriented, analytical and pay attention to details;
- You are at ease with figures and large amounts of data;
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You enjoy working in a team, in a very multicultural environment, You seek facts before making conclusions
- You wish to develop and are ready to persevere to reach challenging targets
- You have strong project management, planning and organization skills
- You are pro-active, take initiatives and are continuously looking for improvement opportunities
- You have excellent communication skills and you are comfortably assertive
- You have a high level of integrity and able to handle confidential issues and data with discretion;
