About EIT Food
EIT Food (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) is a young and fast growing organization that was set up to transform our food ecosystem by connecting consumers with businesses, start-ups, researchers and students from around Europe, and support innovative and economically sustainable initiatives which improve our health, our access to quality food, and our environment. EIT Food has 5 regional offices (Co-Location Centres or CLC) in Europe, each covering several EIT Food partners and partner countries. JOB DESCRIPTION:
EIT Food is part of a larger network of Knowledge and Innovation Communities addressing societal challenges such as Climate Change (EIT Climate-KIC) and Digitalisation (EIT Digital). Some of the projects of EIT Food are a collaboration between these different communities, called Cross-KIC projects. As Programme Manager Cross-KIC, you will facilitate and drive these Cross-KIC activities on regional level (Belgium, France and Switzerland) focusing on the topic of healthy nutrition and lifestyle within the work package of the New European Bauhaus, a new European project that aims for a beautiful, sustainable and inclusive Europe.
The NEB project is especially focussing on including citizens in the co-creation and implementation of solutions for the challenges that cities and regions face. Together with local and wider EU stakeholders you will facilitate the creative process of searching for solutions to make cities and regions more beautiful, sustainable and inclusive, addressing challenges such as access to healthy food, knowledge on where your food comes from, shift to alternative proteins, etc. A system innovation approach is used to work with the different stakeholders along the food supply chain (hackathons and makathons) to generate a high impact on society.
JOB AND CONTRACT TYPE:
We offer a full-time 3-years employment contract under the Belgian labour law.
LOCATION:
You will be based at the Co-Location Centre West in Leuven, Belgium.
Frequent travel within Europe can be expected.
EXPECTED START DATE:
January 2022.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will coordinate the New European Bauhaus Work-package in the Cross-KIC programme ‘Strategic Synergies’, and be responsible for the project management of the project ‘Nutriboot’: a support programme for citizens and employees to increase a healthy lifestyle.
Responsibilities are:
- drive the execution/lead the monitoring of the respective activities within the Cross-KIC programmes and report on the activities (Citizen engagement labs, hackathons, makathons, network of maker spaces)
- drive the execution and scale of the project ‘Nutriboot’, a support programme (including app) to increase a healthy lifestyle, together with with companies, cities and citizens
- search for and apply to additional funding opportunities for the Nutriboot project
- act as a main contact/matchmaker of the EIT Food network of partners, cities and other possible collaborators in the area of healthy nutrition
- create, expand and maintain a strong regional network of stakeholders (industries, universities, cities, SME’s, start-ups) to share good practices and to ensure maximum engagement
- you will actively connect with other Programme Managers on the regional level to effectively deliver the EIT Food Business Plan, for example co-organising local events for partners and outreach events
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Qualifications
- You hold a Master degree related to food science, nutrition, health OR another master degree associated with new business development / system innovation. University or professional education related to healthy nutrition is a clear plus.
- You have a strong knowledge of healthy nutrition and experience in leading projects on this topic
- You have experience in leading projects that use a systemic innovation approach and involve multiple stakeholders from different type of organisations
- You speak fluent Dutch, French and English
- Expertise and experience in the food sector is a clear plus
- You have an established network of contacts with representatives of companies and organizations that work within the food sector within the Belgium / France / region
- You have been exposed to international experiences
- Experience in EU-funded project management (H2020 or similar) is an asset
