Publication Officer
Your role
Database Management
You and your colleagues are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date database that tracks, coordinates, and annotates legislation. Your tasks include:
- Daily analysis of the official publication of the ‘Belgisch staatsblad’
- Selection of relevant legal texts for inclusion in the internal database;
- Updating Belgian and European legal texts in the database;
- Enriching legislation with case law and cross-references.
Management of Production of Law Books
The database provides content for all our law books and digital products. You will be responsible for the management of some law books in our portfolio, which includes tasks such as
- Creating, verifying, and improving proofs
- Sending proofs and cover designs to authors and processing author corrections
- Preparing files for the typesetter
- Final checking of files before they go to print
Administrative Follow-Up
Administrative tasks are also part of managing your projects, including
Maintaining a production schedule
- Working in the ERP system
- Internal coordination with customer service, marketing department, publisher, IT, etc.
- External coordination with authors, bookstores, and course services
Your profile
- You are Dutch speaking, with a knowledge of English.
- You have a very good knowledge of Word.
- Attention to detail, meticulous, orderly, structured, focused.
- You are resilient to stress and can work with tight deadlines.
- You can work independently and in a team.
- An experience in publishing or the legal sector is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the legal world and legal language is a plus.
