ASM is currently seeking an smart and driven individual to join us as a Senior Buyer for a period of 12 months. While the work environment can be dynamic, innovative and creative it will also come with challenges like deadlines and stakeholder management. You will get the opportunity to support for a year our high demanding department and to interface and interact with our internal and external customers. You will be successful if you can take the heat of a deadline and have a understanding of technical purchasing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and implementing activities related to the materials purchase, material control, and inventory control functions
  • Responsible for purchasing of dedicated commodities purchase orders in the BU/Almere
  • Responsible for resolving materials delivery issues
  • Manage supplier relationships, business reviews and scorecards, if needed
  • Manage vendors to attain the desired performance level in terms of delivery and support services
  • Manage supplier’s performance to achieve required delivery and quality performance on cooperation with Supply Chain Quality

Here is what we are looking for:

  • MBO+/HBO dependent on working experience
  • 5+ years related industry progressive roles and experience in purchasing / production planning and supply chain management
  • Highly proficient in MS office like Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience in SAP system is highly desirable
  • Analytical with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player, self-driven and able to work independently towards achieving company/group objectives
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and to work with a variety of offshore locations (Singapore, USA & Europe)
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and materials flow concepts
  • Experience in low volume high mix and VMI / pull manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Project Management and Presentation skills, an added advantage
