Walker Lovell is happy to now recruit a Senior Mining Engineerfor our client partner.As a global minerals company going from strength to strength in this global climate, they are looking to fulfil a need for this position which will have an emphasis on supporting the mining team in their quest to increase underground operations within Europe over the next few years.This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced mine engineers who wish to work on developing mining projects and contribute to developing this new venture for the client who operates in over 25 countries worldwide.The Senior Mining Engineer can be based out of either Belgium, France, or Germany (depending on the locality of our client’s sites).Job Responsibilities (But Are Not Limited To)
  • Provide technical know-how and guidance for mine safety, planning, and other tasks within underground mining.
  • Work across a broad range of partners across Europe and on occasion, with other regions across the world.
  • Collaborate with other members of the mining and geology team on capital projects, and benchmarking.
  • Offer expertise in mining underground by analysing, developing solutions, and offering recommendations.
Education And Experience
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in Mine Engineering (Or similar). A Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience within an underground environment in minerals mining.
  • Previous experience as a mine planner or managing a team is a plus.
Skills And Knowledge
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of core mining practices and principles in both underground and surface mines.
  • Possesses accountability, effective communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Can offer a clear thought process when planning, setting objectives, and managing processes.
  • Can read and assess complex issues with sound analytical skills.
Capabilities:
  • Can work with heights, confined spaces and can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Travel ranges from 30-60% (dependent on the project) within Europe and may be required to go to the US, South America or Asia.
