Do you love to work within UX Design? Are you the one maintaining overview and it’s in your nature to coach your more junior colleagues? Are you not afraid to speak up and have the ability to discuss UX topics with internal & external stakeholders?
Then this might be the job for you!
Company
Wolters Kluwer is an international, listed multinational that offers professionals in many sectors specialized information and technological solutions and has become an established name in the market. The solutions we offer help our customers to make decisions in their day-to-day work and thus allow them to perform their work efficiently.
The job
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Tax and Accounting division at Wolters Kluwer. We won’t state the obvious regarding what UX Design exactly is. As UX-ers, we are the advocates of the user. We think outside of the box to envision novel solutions to clearly defined problems. We won’t bother you by telling you that we like to validate our approach with frequent research using all kinds of techniques. Let alone ask you to tell us that we need to design stuff, in different levels of fidelity too. In this role you will advocate UX within our organization, not only within the development teams.
About this role
We are looking for someone who can combine design and development: a deviner! Not just to make things that are divine, but also to have fun with us while doing so. We won’t ask you to be the person to do all these things at once. We would like you to focus on wireframing and visual design first and bring your HTML/CSS skills with you while you’re at it. Because we work in multidisciplinary teams on our projects, we are looking for a real team player. We help to bring out the best in each other, everyone contributes to the best of their abilities and has the confidence to speak up when necessary.
We like to go fast, so we have a few neat things in place to help us go fast. We follow the Wolters Kluwer Brand Guidelines. This is not some boring set of rules to follow to the T, but a living and breathing global community of UX designers and developers, where you are welcome to contribute if you see the opportunity, and where you can find a crazy load of best practices and frequent online interaction with your global colleagues.
In this global community we have created our “product design system”. This is a set of base patterns and components that can be reused and tailored within every project and can be extended by the local teams where necessary. Of course, you as UX’er can add new components or features to this library so that other teams can also benefit from your effort and ideas. And importantly, we want you to be the UX representative for Belgium within this community. You will be attending meetings and workshops to promote our Belgian work and to streamline global initiatives with our projects.
Your profile
- You obtained a Bachelor’s degree and you have 5+ years of experience within UI/UX design.
- You have experience with working in Agile teams and you have knowledge and experience with tools like Figma & Sketch.
- You can maintain a helicopter view and take up the coaching role for our junior designer if necessary.
- You are communicative and have the ability to discuss with front-end developers about finding the best implementation in CSS & HTML to bring your design to life.
- You know how to convince others and are at ease when meeting new people, both inside and outside the organization.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships to work alongside technical, business, and other teams, ability to inspire and engage project team.
- You are an excellent communicator in English, both written as verbal. Knowledge of Dutch will be considered as a big asset.
What’s in it for you?
A salary in line with the market, together with numerous benefits (meal vouchers, eco vouchers, group insurance, benefits at work, etc.), 35 vacation days and a good work-life balance. You will join an enthusiastic and motivated team where there is also room for independent work.
We work with flexible hours and have a flexible work-from-home policy. This allows you to work from home for up to 3 days (also post-covid)!
Wolters Kluwer invests permanently in the growth and competences of its employees and wants to give them the opportunity to develop. Discover more advantages of Wolters Kluwer at www.wolterskluwer.be.
