Shipping Officer

Availability of the correct spare parts, flawless processes, high accuracy, customer orientation, professional communication and high handling speed are key elements. The warehouse and shipping activity has a global reach and offers a divers and interesting playground. The Shipping Officer is responsible for a timely delivery of parts and/or machines and their periphery.

• Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
• Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies
• Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods
• Ensuring safety-, quality-, budget- and environmental objectives achievement
• Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where utilised
• Places orders for delivery at transport companies and monitors them to guarantee a timely delivery of parts;
• Responsible for a proper monitoring of (customs) administration and archiving the files to ensure a smooth administrative processing;
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods;
• Tracks all shipments and informs both customers as concerned departments on the progress and delivery dates
• Keeps all concerned parties informed about the status of the ordered
• Coordinates customs administration from and within TOMRA Sorting;
• Prepares customs administration and executes it;
• Ensures that the warehouse receives the necessary documents for shipment;
• Ensures a good administrative monitoring;
• Checks the packaging and transportation bills;
• Ensures the input of the invoice information in the ERP-system;
• Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these;
• Coordinating the use of automated and digitilised systems where utilised;
• Functions as a back-up for shipping of machines

• Proven experience in shipping in a global set-up (min. 5y)
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team
• Excellent organizational attitude, knowledge in inventory management and follow-up skills
• Ability to relate to customers and vendors, their views and issues, locally and in other countries and cultures
• Strong in correct & accurate work
• Stress resistant

• Logistics administration or equivalent by proven experience

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Teamwork
• Computer skills are crucial - inventory management, excel, etc.
• Experience with export
• Fluent Dutch and English oral & written (all other languages are considered as a plus)
