Sr Director, ERP Platforms and Technical Architecture

The Sr Director of ERP Platforms and Technical Architecture will report directly to Bhaps Bagar who is the VP of ERP Product Management globally across GSK. This is a critical role in defining and managing the existing but also just as importantly the future of ERP landscape in GSK.

The main purpose of this role is to be accountable for the Rx and Vx ERP platform technical design and implementation, as well as strategic roadmap going forward – driving ultimately to an S4 landscape.

This position will provide mentorship, guidance, and day-to-day leadership to the ERP Technology organisation as well as other organisations such as GP&T overall while operating in alignment with corporate strategies and instituting a culture which ensures the team continually stays informed of and incubates the appropriate technology landscape across Commercial, Manufacturing, Vaccines and Corporate Reporting elements of New GSK.

This role will also oversee the technical architecture responsibilities for all ERP Tech and feed into the central enterprise architecture leadership functional in Tech.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable to provide strategic direction of the technical architecture across all ERP workstreams including multiple technology platforms that aligns with GSK’s business growth aspirations with an intent to bring value from technology.
  • Accountable for defining and establishing Technical Architectural governance processes
  • Accountable to ensure that the guiding architecture principles (secured by design, scalable and high available) are fully applied at a global level, providing clear direction, management, and compliance at all levels
  • Accountable to oversee all aspects of systems technical solution by engaging and maintaining a portfolio of commercially productive relationships with multiple complimentary 3rd-party organizations (e.g. SAP, Bain, Accenture, TCS, Microsoft) across several areas of expertise at a global level.
  • Accountable for maintaining relationships with other Tech Group (Hosting and Secured Hosting, TSR, End user Services)
  • Accountable for driving technical architecture reviews with the central Enterprise Architecture Function
  • Leader with a global vision in the management of the solution architecture across all businesses and continuously demonstrated deep technical competency and interpersonal skills to drive business value and results.
  • Responsible to make bold technology decisions from a position of informed technical authority
  • Lead a team of architects with specialist knowledge to produce optimised design to delivery in partnership with Product Owners
  • Assess new technologies and articulate the transition from current to future state, striking the balance between standardisation, customisation, innovation, costs, and risk management, while staying abreast of disruptive technology trends that can impact or benefit the business
  • Responsible for post activity analysis of all activities conducted with an aim for developing recommendation for the future solution improvement.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, other relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Tech ERP SAP Architecture, Cloud architecture/services, Architecture Design Principles
  • Significant experience in SAP Technology Management is required. Tech ERP SAP Architecture, Cloud architecture/services, Architecture Design Principles
  • Direct management experience working in a matrix organization organizing and managing large teams (20+ individuals) is required
  • Must have a successful track record of tactical execution
  • Must have a history of providing vision and leadership
  • Should have demonstrated an exceptional grasp of corporate strategy
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as healthcare, financial services, or biotech is strongly desired
