SUPPORT ENGINEER | Brussels

Exciting contract role for a experienced Support Engineer

Location:Brussels, Belgium – onsite

Citizenship:EU

Languages: English is mandatory and other European languages are nice to have.

Daily rate: 350 euros per day

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer or similar role
  • Good understanding of API’s and IP based protocols
  • Ideally RHCE qualified or equivalent GNU/Linux experience or qualification
  • Experience of Docker orchestration technologies
  • Understanding/Experiences in scripting languages- Python or Shell
  • Solid TCP/IP networking experience and understanding
  • Experience in network, OS and application monitoring tools
  • Good knowledge of ITIL best practices
  • Usage of version control / git

Other requirements and skills:

· Strong communication skills in English verbal and written.

· Solid interpersonal and organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple, varied activities.

· Flexible approach to working, including on-call responsibilities.

· Enthusiastic and motivated to drive change through technology.

· Ability to work well under pressure.

· Passionate about automating manual tasks.

· Feels comfortable in documenting processes.

Nice to have:

· Jira/Confluence and Blockchain knowledge

Description of tasks:

  • Work with engineering and devops team to ensure 24x7 availability of service offerings.
  • Create and maintaining the Tickets in our ticket system and follow ITIL best practices.
  • Documenting known issues and fixes in our knowledge bases.
  • Provide L1, L2 support and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
  • Send out the notifications to users in case of downtime during business hours.
  • Trigger investigations (registration of problems) in order to identify root causes and prevent potential impacts on the application.
  • Provide stand by support when required.
  • Support, and document automated build and configuration management processes
  • Ensure comprehensive monitoring of all systems, including creation of dashboards for internal team use.
  • Diagnose problems observed in test/staging/production environment.
