Job Summary
AECOM’s Sustainability team comprises of specialists within our Environmental Business Line. We are recognised as industry leaders in the field of sustainable development. Our projects range developing energy and sustainability strategies for Oil & Gas clients to supporting our towns and cities in achieving their net zero ambitions, and the design and planning of new developments across the Benelux.

We work across all construction stages, from pre-feasibility, through feasibility, business case development, design, construction and operation; and across a wide range of sectors - offices, retail, industrial, etc. We also deliver advice relating to existing portfolios.

AECOM Benelux are currently hiring a Sustainability Consultant to be based at either one of our offices in the Netherlands (The Hague) or Belgium (Leuven of Ghent). Within this role your responsibilities include:
  • Developing sustainability and energy strategies to support existing clients to help them reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption and mapping a viable route to net zero.
  • Developing sustainability strategies to support the growth of the business.
  • Contributing to a wide range of projects as the workload dictates.
  • Writing proposals and help winning new work.
  • Building client relationships and delivering work.
  • Project management of projects and the management of resource to achieve deliverables.
  • Presentations to clients and chairing meeting.
  • Delivering high quality, clearly written outputs

Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Energy or a related technical field.
  • 2-3 years of related professional/consulting experience and an interest in pursuing a career in sustainability.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.
  • Project management experience focusing on managing multiple stakeholders.
  • High commitment to AECOM vision, values and excellent client service.
  • Proven track record in developing, managing, and executing client solutions.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, complex analysis and ideas in a concise manner.
  • Analytical self-starter with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on multiple complex projects in diverse areas.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in French is an added value in order to support the wider Benelux & France business.
