Join our dynamic organization as a Sustainability Expert, where you will be the driving force behind our organization’s sustainability initiatives and ensure that they are aligned with the company’s objectives. In addition, an overview must be maintained of compliance with local and international regulations. This person plays an important role in establishing sustainable and responsible business practices that strengthen profitability and company reputation, and this within a fast-growing organization.

The Sustainability Expert participates in the design and implementation of sustainability strategies. This person ensures effective communication of the sustainability vision and compliance with applicable regulations.
The Sustainability Expert has a coordinating role and collaborates with other departments such as HR, operations, environment, marketing and others.

• You ensure compliance with sustainability standards and focus on achieving long-term sustainability goals
• You analyze and evaluate the environmental, social and economic impacts of the business and participate in tailored strategies to reduce the environmental footprint, use resources more efficiently and promote ethical practices
• You help translate sustainability goals into concrete actions and technical solutions
• You collect and analyze data related to energy consumption, water management, waste management and carbon emissions. The sustainability expert develops a process for collecting and disclosing sustainability data in accordance with legal standards, including CSRD, to ensure regulatory compliance, increase transparency and improve corporate reputation
• You will collaborate with colleagues from different departments and establishments within the Ciner Group and play a coordinating role in sustainability projects
• The Sustainability Expert is able to collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective sustainability plans
• You will report to the Corporate Affairs Manager/ ESG Program Director

Additional tasks:

• Design and implement sustainability strategies and initiatives
• Track, evaluate and report the impact of sustainability efforts to senior management
• Conduct research, data collection and analysis to support the development of sustainability reports
• Oversee sustainability projects and programs, ensuring compliance with changing regulations while identifying risks and opportunities
• Elaborate sustainability reports and presentations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Train and mentor colleagues on sustainability best practices

• You have at least five years of experience in a sustainability role, with a strong emphasis on project management. Preferably in an industrial or engineering environment
• Familiarity with European and global sustainability regulations and previous experience in a corporate environment are highly desirable
• Thorough knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental legislation, energy efficiency, circular economy, sustainable technologies and ESG
• Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, in Dutch and English is required
• Driven to help build a new site that will present challenges
• A solution-oriented attitude and a proactive approach to manage challenges quickly and efficiently
