We are looking for a EU Evidence Generation Strategy Lead Rare Diseases who is passionate and knowledgeable in the Rare Disease space, agile and who can operate cross-functionally to join us in our Rare Disease European Organization team, based in our offices in HQ, Brussels, Belgium or Slough, UK or Monheim, Germany


About the role

The EU Evidence Generation Strategy Lead Rare Diseases optimizes patient care supporting the differentiation strategy and access for UCB therapies at EU level by:

  • acting as an Evidence Generation (EG) subject Matter expert at EU level for EG, ensuring country data needs are properly reflected in the ISEG & Comms plan and EG priorities are clearly communicated to the EU countries.
  • Ensuring all key launch markets have a robust EG tactical plan in place and will maintain an overview of all EU-driven EG projects with budget, rationale and timing
  • supporting the evolution of E2E EG excellence at UCB including training in collaboration with relevant GMA members and the RDO.

What you’ll do

  • Represents EU internally in the relevant global/local governance bodies (e.g., Global Evidence Team, GET) and is accountable to drive identification of EG data gaps and needs for all indications in key EU countries to contribute in a timely manner to the ISEG planning. Ensures the integration of data gaps into the relevant ISEG-plan for the indication as well as building the interface to relevant publication stakeholders to ensure reflection in publication plans.
  • Ensures EG priorities for the Asset/Indication have been clearly communicated to the EU countries and supports key launch markets to have a robust EG tactical plan in place. As such, serves as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders, helping local medical teams to obtain ISEG approval for relevant projects. Ensure full alignment with indications and product-relevant strategy
  • Creates and maintains an overview of all EU driven Evidence Generation projects with budget, rationale and project plans
  • Represents EU in the workstreams for evidence generation strategy and tactics, including post launch data collection studies
  • Ensures interface with global digital team RDO to see when/how digital solutions/Apps can be used as platform for data capturing
  • Supports evolution of E2E excellence in EG by close collaboration with relevant GMA members and aligning relevant trainings to EU teams with global partners in GMA and RDO
  • Key Stakeholders: local and EU Medical Strategy Leads RDO, area Access Leads, local & EU Patient Engagement Leads, FML (Field Medical Leads), global and local EG leads, Commercial, GMA, GIL’s (Global Indication Leads), global publications team, EU Clinical Operations Lead
  • Representing EU externally towards KOL in close collaboration with key internal global & local stakeholders in the planning and execution process of EG and related publications
  • Ensure ongoing evolution of E2E excellence in EG by close collaboration with relevant GMA members and aligning and supporting execution of trainings to EU teams with global partners in GMA and RDO
  • Creating and maintaining an overview of all relevant EU EG projects and ensuring the proper allocation & monitoring of budget for the full E2E process

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the followingeducation, experienceandskills

  • PhD in Sciences or M.D.
  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in Rare Diseases Neurology space, preferred indications MG, TK2D, MOG AD, AIE
  • Strong understanding of evidence generation excellence, plans and practices (5+ years)
  • Track record of leading cross-business/cross-functional planning, collaborating and solution building
  • Experience in budget planning and monitoring
  • 3+ years’ experience effectively managing cross-functional teams in a matrix environment remotely
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage internal and external leaders (KOL) and serve as a medical expert
  • Solid knowledge of the pharma environment and healthcare ecosystems and relevance for the business
  • Demonstrated experience of governance activities and their pragmatic implementation….
  • Mastery of therapeutic area & assets knowledge and ability to translate science into clinical patient value and business value
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; establishes trust and partnership collaboration with Cross-functional matrix leadership including local, regional & global colleagues and external
  • Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence, integrity, business acumen, humility, respect and transparency
  • Strong communication skills, ability to articulate complex subjects with clarity, ease and executive presence (story telling skills)
  • Strong Strategic acumen, good business acumen and anticipation of industry trends
  • Ability to critically analyze complex data
  • Adaptability: comfortable working with complexity in a fluid environment
  • Health ecosystem awareness and experience of policy/guidelines shaping
  • Strong customer focus operating skills and sense of urgency
  • Digital Literacy
  • Agile mindset
