In Belgium, we have a manufacturing site with R&D facilities in Zwijndrecht. In this manufacturing site, we are looking for a Waste Water Treatment Engineerto support our Utility & Waste Water treatment facilities.

Working as part of a highly focused and driven team, the projects will be oriented around process improvement, disruptive technologies, and process automation.
You will work on our Factory of the Futureand help the transformation how we operate our assets to improve safety, quality, and productivity:

  • Implement data automation to drive automated actions and allow the operator to make intelligent, informed decisions.
  • Support reliability and predictive programs to predict health equipment before failure or issue.
  • Utilizing technology and data across the space of customer, supplier and manufacturing to create valuable information and taking action to optimize processes.

To be effective in this role, you will need to develop the skills to become a high performing engineer and 3M will support you in doing so. You’ll become knowledgeable about our developing technologies, the quality systems that surround our utility & waste water treatment processes and learn to work with people at all levels of the organization - from the operators to the senior managers. You’ll be trained in Lean Six Sigma methods and tools, and will use these to analyse and improve the processes in your area of responsibility – if there isn’t data to analyse; you will have the autonomy to explore how to generate this vital data.

Key elements :

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements programs to improve:
    (1) process environmental effectiveness and (2) product cost, service, and quality.
  • Daily follow-up and technical assistance to the Utility & Waste water treatment processes.
  • You will use the Lean Six Sigma methodology to monitor and improve the manufacturing processes.
  • You will take the lead in coordinating continuous improvement projects (of processes and installations) by means of proper project management.

Qualifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic personwith the following competencies:

  • You have a Master in Engineering Sciences, Bio-Engineering Sciences, with a good knowledge of chemical and environmental techniques.
  • Computer Science, electrical & mechanical engineering, energy and materials engineering are good competencies.
  • Knowledge of statistics, process, and safety techniques
  • You are a result-oriented, creative, pro-active, flexible, an independent worker with strong communication skills, able to work in a team and with other 3M departments.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
