About The Program
An NCI Agency internship is between 6 and 10 months located at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 st March or 1 st September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support different teams and simultaneously learn from our business experts via on-the-job training and working on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure.
About The Internship
Internship duration: 6 months
Location: Braine l’Alleud, Belgium
The NATO Integrated Mobile Service Centre provides NATO and its partners with scalable, protected, secure, reliable, and integrated Wireless Communication-based Services with a focus on NATO Operations, Crisis Response, Missions, Exercises and Business Continuity. The NIMSC Chief is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for centre’s following services: strategy, design, transition, operation and continuous service improvement including subject matter expertise, research and development, acquisition and logistic support.
Internship Duties:
- Support with the preparation of detailed NIMSC Financial Reports;
- Track regularly pending Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders and coordinate actions with all involved stakeholders; (Requestors, Acquisition, Warehouse, Finance, Accounts Payables, etc.)
- Coordinate internal and external audit related tasks, requirements and reports
- Assist with ad-hoc report preparation related to budgetary and financial aspects including Key Performance Indicators and statistics
- Contribute to the preparation of NIMSC Management Artefacts for Agency stakeholder financial meetings, briefingsand reports
- Support with PowerPoint Presentations directed to both internal and external stakeholders on different financial and budgetary briefings
- Support in the assessment of Quarterly Performance Reviews
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related subject (such as Accounting, Finance or Business Management);
- Understanding of IPSAS, IFRS and/or IAS;
- Understanding of the Procure to Pay Process
To be eligible to apply to our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- You are a national of a NATO member country
- You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months
- You have strong communication skills in English, both written and oral
- Copy of the university degree you have completed and/or
- Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying

Ø If selected to be progress the first stage evaluation consists of logical and numeracy exercises in addition on a variety of on-demand video questions aligned to the requirements of the internship
Ø The teams are aiming to virtually interview candidates during the month of March for tentative offer to be presented to successful candidates by early April
Compensation
You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,216.74EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for travel expenses.
