Financial controller

What you’ll do

As Finance Controller Retail, you will act in collaboration with the Head of Controlling as the single point of contact for all matters relating to forecasting, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of our client.

You will also support the Head of Controlling and the Retail Director in developing and maintaining a comprehensive set of dashboards to ensure transparency of financial performance, and challenge the status quo to identify new opportunities for growth and financial efficiency.

You will report directly to the Head of Controlling.

Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

• Ensure monthly performance submission in the global reporting system in line with the Group closing instructions
• Ensure monthly and weekly submissions of the Retail and Used Cars performance respectively to the Retail Head and Used Cars Head.
• Ensure performance reported is accurate and reconciles with local ledgers
• Provide analysis to the Head of Controlling, Head of Retail, Head of Used Cars on an ad-hoc basis

• Support the Head of Controlling in leading and coordinating forecast exercises in collaboration with the Retail Heads and Used Cars Head, and submit it according to the group guidelines (weekly and quarterly)
• Perform weekly and monthly analysis on variances between actual and latest forecast

• Provide support and guidance to the Retail Head and Used Cars Head in all finance related matters and support them in achieving the financial objectives
• Lead qualitative monthly business reviews with them to unlock business insights
• Develop and maintain a set of dashboards to support them in managing their performance
• Proactive approach to support them in terms of efficiency and cost-effective activities

• You ensure compliance with the existing group accounting policies
• You ensure compliance with the ICS (Internal Control Standards) for all Retail and Used Cars activities
• You proactively identify and implement any remedies/improvements on procedures and internal controls to reinforce ICS compliance

Who we’re looking for

• You have a master degree in finance and at least 5 years of experience in a commercial environment.
• You are fluent in French and Dutch.
• You are able to deliver quality work within deadlines.
• You have a good eye for detail and an analytical mind allowing you to see opportunities for development.
• You are able to work closely with the business.
• You are entrepreneurial and solution oriented.
• You act and think proactively.
• You have a good knowledge of Office 365 applications (Excel, Power BI) and accounting software (SAP).
• You have a good understanding of general accounting procedures.
