With the rapid increase of renewable energies in line with European decarbonization ambitions, the electricity system needs to be adapted and become more flexible to respond in a timely manner to variations in electricity supply and demand. Within the optimization team, we are helping our clients being battery storage investors or commercial and industrial sites owners, to design and operate smart solutions valuing their flexibility. This role will provide opportunities for the individual to be part of the emerging and rapidly growing business of energy storage whilst developing an in-depth knowledge of the functioning of electricity systems.

  • Location:Antwerp (Belgium) or Windsor/London (UK). Working at home is possible for part of the week

The Role

As a Flexible Power Market Analyst, you are going to modelize flexible power assets and simulate their commercialization into electricity markets in the Western European countries. This role requires thorough quantitative and modelling skills, although you will strongly interact with non-technical teams to present your ideas and results. This position therefore requires simultaneously analytics and commercial skills.

Profile of the ideal candidate

  • Analytics mind: you have a degree in engineering, physics or a similar scientific field. You are used to express ideas into analytical and quantitative problems and know several techniques to solve them (numerical optimization, machine learning…)

  • Programming skills: you know python, are working with it on a daily basis and know most scientific programming libraries

  • Communication: you know how to synthetize and communicate your results simply to non-quantitative experts

  • Ownership: you are ready to lead and own projects from the initial feasibility stage to its delivery to operations

  • Passion: you are willing to contribute to the transition toward a cleaner electricity system.

  • Nice to have: knowledge of energy markets, ancillary services and electricity regulations
