Celyad Oncology is looking for aFlow Cytometry Specialist. The successful candidate will be based in Belgium and will report into the Development & Validation Senior Manager/Director.
Role :
- He/She acts as a reference expert at the level of the Company in all aspects surrounding Flow Cytometry. He/She independently oversees the Flow Cytometry platform, mentors Scientists, Specialists and Technicians and ensures best practices through the Company.
Responsibilities :
- Provide scientific and technical support to R&D, Validation, QC and Translational Research teams for all aspects related to flow cytometry;
- Act as Subject Matter Expert to troubleshoot flow cytometry related problems and manage communication with external support services;
- Be responsible for study design, execution and reporting of assigned projects related to development, qualification, and/or validation of flow cytometry analysis;
- Be responsible for multi-color antibody panel set-up, optimization and to define state of the art data analysis;
- Ensure best practices implementation through the Company by reviewing internal SOP and organizing appropriate user trainings;
- Familiarize with all in house equipment and ensure principal maintenance for all instruments;
- Lead identification, evaluation, and implementation of new flow cytometry techniques or strategies as a technical expert. Look into new equipment purchase to increase efficiency;
- Keep hands-on expertise in flow cytometry being able to support the research and operational team when needed;
- Support scientific projects to optimize T-cell characterization through flow cytometry in close collaboration with R&D scientists;
- Be responsible for analytical transfer internally and toward external parties including equivalence evaluation;
- Work with the lab operations and supply-chain teams to ensure business continuity regarding flow related supplies.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Master degree in Biotechnology/Applied Biology;
- Strong Knowledge and min 5 years’ experience with flow cytometry (preferably BD Fortessa, Lyrics and Thermo Attune) including hands-on experience (from panel design, sample processing, staining, instrument running, maintenance and data analysis);
- Knowledge of cGMP with experience of pharmaceutical GMP or ATMP;
- Experience in method development, qualification, and validation;
- Experience in managing vendor contracts and interactions is a plus;
- Immunology background is preferred.
