Job Purpose and ImpactThe Global Nutrition Project Manager will define and execute nutrition-related research and development projects for Cargill Starches, Sweeteners and Texturizers. In this role, you will be responsible for ideation, building business cases and project proposals. You will communicate the conclusions and follow up actions with relevant departments to ensure strong stakeholder management.Key Accountabilities
  • Lead complex nutrition-related innovation projects to advance the innovation pipeline and portfolio with ideas for the conversion of scientific research and growth of distinctive product offerings.
  • Manage discovery of novel ingredients and related nutritional benefits, ensure appropriate resource allocation and communicate project results, recommending actionable next steps to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research, analyze results and provide oversight for interpretation of completed trial results, and determine next steps.
  • Coordinate with various functions, including R&D, marketing, food safety and to ensure adequate resources are engaged to test and deliver technical findings.
  • Actively partner with intellectual asset management liaison to assist with the development of strategies, processes and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies, providing technical expertise to support this process and to secure innovation property rights.
  • Support research and development innovation growth by partnering with businesses and with technology partners such as universities, research and development organizations, key opinion leaders and industry forums, to identify emerging trends and needs.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, biomedical sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience, preferably in the Food industry.
  • Prior experience in R&D and project management.
  • Experience in collaborating with academics and other knowledge institutions, and/or new technology providers.
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in nutrition or biomedical sciences, or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, in the Food industry.
  • Versed in nutritional and health scientific research, with experience in nutritional or clinical substantiation.
  • Deep knowledge of ingredient categories relevant to Nutrition/ Specialized Nutrition, in particular Carbohydrates, Fibers and Proteins.
  • Experience working successfully with cross-functional teams.
  • Project management skills including planning time and resources.
