You will join our Strategic Sustainability Consulting division in Ramboll Management Consulting Belgium
As our new colleague in Brussels, you will be part of a dynamic and growing department with a high professional drive and strong collaborative spirit. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of consultants who provide strategy and policy consultancy to the public and non-for-profit sector, financial institutions and industry. We work across various sustainability domains including Climate, Environment, Energy, Infrastructure, Buildings, Sustainable Cities and Regions, and Just transition. Being in Brussels, a significant part of our activities are targeted towards EU institutions, but we also work locally and globally with a variety of clients.
As a Management Consultancy within Ramboll, our projects are often characterised by bridging deep technical expertise and strategic understanding specialising in strategy and policy advice. You will work continuously with our colleagues in our Strategic Sustainability Consulting division and have access to a global pool of technical expertise in Ramboll Group throughout Europe and worldwide.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Contributing to proposals, projects and consulting activities in the fields of climate mitigation, contributing to the design, evaluation and implementation of climate policies, and providing strategic and evidence-based advisory on low-carbon transition to our clients.
  • Contributing with your expertise in climate policy strategy to large, multi-country and multi-disciplinary projects supporting the sustainability transition.
  • Conducting data collection, desk research, interviews, surveys
  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data processing, modelling, analysis
  • Writing reports and drafting presentations for our clients
  • Undertaking administrative tasks
The opportunity we offer is an internship through the Belgian CIP (professional induction programme) and has a duration of 6 months, with the possibility to extend this period by a further 6 months depending on performance. The internship period is from 1st of January 2022 to 30th June 2022 (+/- 2-month flexibility). It will be remunerated at 1,000 EUR net per month and will include normal social security contributions and holidays. The working language is English.
Your starting point for constant growth

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and are either in the final stages of, or have completed, a Master’s Degree in energy, climate, environment, sustainability, economics and/or business studies, where you are/were among the top students
  • You have knowledge and interest in climate and energy transition, including knowledge and understanding of public and private strategies and initiatives towards climate neutrality ; you have knowledge of the EU strategies and policy instruments (directives, regulations, funding schemes) in climate and energy, e.g. Fit for 55, EU ETS; you are familiar with sustainability tools such as: GHG accounting, decarbonisation pathways, science-based targets, risk assessments and TCFD, sustainability strategy
  • You have experience in and enjoy drafting coherent and compelling analytical texts based on a wide range of qualitative and quantitative sources
  • You are analytical, structured and good at handling many tasks at the same time
  • You are well-organised and able to internalise substantial amounts of (new) materials
  • You have excellent command of English, both written and oral, and ideally fluency in at least one more EU language;
  • You have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel beyond their basic functionalities
