Job Overview and Responsibilities

BE Payroll Operations Specialist will be in charge of supporting the Solvay Belgian Payroll and Benefits Team by providing accurate and timely payroll services for Belgium.
Based in Belgium, he/she will be part of a team of around 12 people based in Brussels (Neder-Over-Hembeek) that are in charge of the Benelux zone.

Under the guidance of the Payroll Manager for BeNelux, he/she will perform the following tasks :
  • Provide accurate and timely payroll services for the Belgian sites Zandvliet & Audenaerde (about 90 active employees in total);
  • Monitor time registration for Zandvliet & Audenaerde;
  • Process salary administration and follow-up (hiring, closing, monitoring of monthly salaries, bonuses, allowances, …) and time registration follow-up for Belgium (Dutch and French speaking sites);
  • Review salary pay slips by performing data and gross amounts controls;
  • Provide reports, expertise and support to colleagues and internal stakeholders and employees, e.g. work council reports, total reward statement, collective agreements, etc.;
  • Manage employees information/database (via SAP);
  • Support the management and administration of different kinds of advantages and/or other specific payroll processes.

Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in Payroll/HRIS/Finance or equivalent through experience, i.e. solid (minimum 1 to 2 years) experience in Payroll Operations in Belgian Payroll.

Skills

  • Belgium payroll and legislation knowledge;
  • Good knowledge of SAP HR;
  • Good knowledge of of Microsoft Office and/or Google tools / advanced use of spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets);
  • Work autonomously and proactively;
  • Strong customer oriented;
  • Being a team player who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and good time management;
  • Being curious and eager to improve his/her knowledge.
  • Bi-lingual in French & Dutch, good in English
