Business Analyst – Data & Reporting

You will be joining a large Financial Company in Brussels. As Business Analyst you’ll be a vital link between business needs and technical solutions. The role centres around translating challenges into clear requirements, ensuring accurate data models, and facilitating smooth project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate business challenges into clear business requirements documented in the High-Level Business Requirement (HLBR) format during the budgeting phase.
  • Conduct initial budget assessments for new business initiatives and participate in the formulation of budget estimates.
  • Take ownership of business documentation such as Data Business Requirements (DBR), data catalogue, glossary, etc., ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Manage the scope of each business initiative, promptly addressing change requests and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Validate the alignment of BI data models with business requirements, liaising with designers and developers.
  • Collaborate with designers and developers to validate data quality and completeness during and after the requirement specification phase.
  • Define testing scopes and strategies and provide support during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase.
  • Offer ad-hoc assistance to end-users and developers during UAT and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking skills.
  • Awareness of Finance, Banking, Settlement, securities, or Asset Servicing domains
  • Interest in Big Data, BI, and advanced analytics.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Comfortable with Data Warehousing models and SQL queries.
  • IT/BI background a plus
