TITLE: Customer Service Representative

LOCATION: Antwerp

II. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:

The Customer Service Representative will be a member of a global team of container experts on a mission to achieve and maintain high quality customer service and marketing support. The role entails coordinating and performing administrative, operational and logistical tasks with regard to Triton Container Leasing and Container Sales. The position will communicate directly with dedicated customers, depots, vendors and suppliers worldwide, working closely with our sales, marketing and technical teams. Good communication skills and the ability to respond/act promptly to any inquiries regarding operational matters, availability, repairs and trucking are a must.

III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATIONS:

  • Maintain good relationship and daily contact with the depot key personnel
  • Handle and follow up and/or divert all incoming mails, phone calls from the depots
  • Ensuring daily gate-in and gate-out moves as well as estimates are correctly posted in our system
  • Stock availability control: arrange regular stock checks and keep equipment turn time as short as possible
  • Arrange intermodal transport of our containers from or to our depots
  • Follow-up and ensure prompt payment of our vendor invoices
  • Other responsibilities and projects which may arise.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

  • Be the central contact point for assigned marine and trader customers (phone/email)
  • Handle ALL customer inquiries: bookings, sale orders, availability, technical details, outstanding bookings, invoicing queries, etc. Some queries will require assistance from the ops/account manager or technical team
  • Conduct basic sales transactions and book/invoice units sold
  • Marketing Assistance: make regular tele-sales + feedback to account managers
  • Accounts Receivable assistance: send monthly statements, monitor credit limits, liaise with collections manager and chase customers for payment when required
  • Check open bookings and follow up with customers
  • Management of the Sale & Leaseback deals
  • Other responsibilities and projects which may arise

IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor degree Logistics Management/Expedition or relevant experience in the container/logistics industry.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • General knowledge of the container/shipping industry or genuine interest/eagerness to learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English and Dutch. Ability to communicate in other European languages (e.g. French/German) is definitely a plus
  • Ability to build and maintain good customer and vendor relations
  • Energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Pro-active attitude on solving queries
  • Good administrative skills and knowledge of Outlook / Excel
