Job Responsibilities

As a Customs Clearance Officer for Europe, you will be responsible for handling and managing the company’s customs clearance processes in the European region, ensuring the smooth clearance of goods. You should be knowledgeable about customs procedures and capable of effectively communicating with customs authorities and other relevant departments to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle and manage daily customs clearance documents, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete;
  • Maintain effective communication with customs authorities and other relevant departments to resolve issues during the clearance process;
  • Ensure all import and export goods comply with local and international customs regulations and policies;
  • Assist in developing and implementing efficient customs clearance procedures to improve operational efficiency;
  • Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and policies to ensure the company’s compliance;
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to customs issues, providing professional solutions;
  • Assist in training new employees to enhance the team’s customs knowledge and skills.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field;
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the international logistics or courier industry;
  • Familiarity with European customs regulations and policies, and understanding of customs procedures;
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with different departments and external agencies;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work efficiently under pressure;
  • Attention to detail with a high sense of responsibility and professional ethics;
  • Proficiency in office software and good computer skills;
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is a plus;
  • Preferably based in Liège. If residing in the Netherlands, willing to undertake regular business travel.
