Carrefour Belgium, is an established and leading retailer within the Belgian market with more than 11. 500 enthusiastic employees. With some 40 Carrefour hypermarkets, more than 440 Carrefour Market supermarkets, 300 Carrefour Express convenience stores and 195 Carrefour Drive withdrawal points, Carrefour Belgium supports customers at every stage of their lives and consumption.

The legal department - located at the head office in Evere (moving soon to Zaventem) - is looking to reinforce their Ethics, Compliance and Data Protection team with a Data Protection Officer.

As Data Protection Officer you will report to the director Legal of Carrefour Belgium and to the Chief Ethics, Compliance and Data Protection Officer of the Carrefour Group.

As the DPO of Carrefour Belgium, you will work closely with the manager Ethics and Compliance, since you are the referent at the level of Belgium for all subjects related to data protection and applicable regulations.

You are responsible for overseeing the data protection strategy of Carrefour and its implementation to ensure compliance with GDPR requirements.

It is your role to represent Carrefour Belgium in associations and professional organizations for data protection and be the contact person of the regulatory and control authorities acting within his scope.

These responsibilities include among other things:

- Risk Mapping

- Definition and updating of reference frameworks in reference to the frameworks defined by the Group

- Prevention, setting up guidelines and follow-up on third parties assessment

- Control and piloting of the data protection principles

- Information and training

- Manage and motivate your team and further develop their expertise

- Lead by example by taking care of complex cases yourself

- Optimize internal operations and ensure internal communication

Your Profile

# Data Protection Officer

# min. 5-7 y. experience

# Master of Laws

# FR / ENG / NL

Hard skills:

- Data Protection Officer or (in-house) lawyer with a strong expertise in data protection

- Master in Laws

- Proven experience in data protection and legal compliance of at least 5-7 years

- Solid knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws

- Familiarity with computer security systems

- Ability to handle confidential information

- Experience to have a direct impact on external stakeholders

- Experience in data processing operations in the retail sector is an asset

- (First) experience in leading a team

- Fluent in French & English, good knowledge of Dutch

Soft skills:
