For our department in Wetteren, part of the Large Projects & DBFMO division, Equans is hiring a Department Manager Special Techniques Buildings – Electricity.

  • general management:
    • you are responsible for the achievement of financial operational and safety targets
    • you develop the strategy of the department and based on this strategy you plan, develop, organize and coordinate all activities
  • financial management:
    • you have full P/L responsibility of the department Wetteren
    • you develop the budget and the long-term financial objectives
    • you detect deviations to budgeted cost, turn-over and results and initiate and follow-up corrective actions
    • you are responsible for the invoicing and cash collection
    • you prepare and present the Quarterly Business Review of your department
  • commercial management:
    • you are managing the relation with the customers, together with the operational teams
    • you decide with the Sales/Tendering Manager on margins and conditions during contract negotiations
  • operational management:
    • you have final responsibility of all execution activities
    • you assure that quality, environmental and safety objectives are met by the team and initiate corrective actions if needed
    • you develop and maintain processes for continuous improvement
    • you stimulate interactions with other teams/departments of Equans in Belgium
  • people management:
    • you lead by example
    • you organize the staffing of the department: “the right man in the right place”
    • you detect training/recruitment needs and initiate them with HR
    • you stimulate your teams in creativity, new ideas and innovation, as well in new technologies
  • H&S management
  • you report to the Division Manager

Are we a match?
  • you have a master’s degree in electricity or electromechanics
  • you have at least 15 years of technical, project and/or operational background/experience
  • you are a strong people manager with at least 5 years of experience
  • you are an entrepreneur
  • you have well developed leader skills, and you are a team player
  • you are result driven
  • you are stress resistant and flexible (attitude)
  • you are trilingual Dutch/French/English

The Large Projects & DBFMO division takes care of the installation of special techniques in (large) buildings and complexes, both in the public and private sector: electrical equipment (high and low voltage installations), HVAC, sprinkler & sanitary.

The division has grown into one of the leading market players in this field. In a project-based approach, we constantly strive for a high added value in combination with an extensive service (24 hours service). Together with our customer, we look for a complete solution for equipping high-current and low-voltage installations, often resulting in a fully integrated building management system. Our project teams have years of experience and are perfectly familiar with public and private contracts; they guarantee a high-quality and safe execution.
