Summary

The Junior Desktop Support Engineer is an entry-level IT position responsible for providing technical assistance to end-users with their computer and software issues. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in computers and a desire to build a career in IT support.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems reported by users
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals
  • Provide remote technical support to users
  • Update and maintain software applications
  • Reset passwords and manage user accounts
  • Document technical issues and solutions
  • Assist senior engineers with more complex tasks
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a technical support role (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Mac and Linux operating systems (a plus)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
