We are looking for a dynamic, strategic, and highly skilled Financial Controlling Director to join our Finance leadership team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in bringing the financial control team to the next level, overseeing the financial closing and reporting of Delhaize Belgium and its subsidiaries in Belgium & Luxemburg and ensuring the highest standards of financial control.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead the financial controlling function, ensuring the timely preparation, review, analysis and reporting on the financial results of the company.
• Develop and maintain robust financial control systems to safeguard the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with Group Accounting Principles and BE/LUX GAAP.
• Collaborate with the Delhaize Leadership Team to deliver the Company strategy and act as a valuable stakeholder for your domain of expertise.
• Liaise with the Financial Controlling team at European level on implementing group wide policies and projects for financial accounting.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of financial controllers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
• Oversee the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting towards the workers’ council and represent the finance department in these meetings.
• Work closely with the Risk & Control team, the tax team, external auditors and other external parties to ensure compliance and optimize financial controlling practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the financial controlling function, focusing on efficiency and automation.
• Reporting to the VP Financial Control at EU level and the SVP Finance & Strategy Belgium.
  
  

Qui êtes-vous ?

• Proven experience (more than 10 years) as a Financial Controlling Director or similar senior finance role, with a solid background in Financial audit.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management reporting, and financial analysis.
• In-depth understanding of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop talent.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
