Explosion Safety Consultant

Expert within Explosion Safety with an entrepreneurial spirit

Your position

• You will be responsible for conducting explosion safety consultancy projects throughout Europe. These include conducting risk assessments and hazardous area classification, issuing recommendations to eliminate and mitigate the risks of dust and gas explosions and providing related guidance to customers assuring compliance to ATEX regulations.
• You will take and lead initiatives in conjunction with the commercial functions to define and prioritize strategic initiatives and to manage the implementation of growth strategies that achieve revenue and profitability goals in order to expand the Fike Explosion Safety Consultancy business.
• You maintain professional and technical knowledge and stay up to date on changes within codes and standards.
• You share insights and knowledge within the Fike consultancy and commercial departments.
• You act as the Fike representative in the CEN standardization committees (TC305) and various public speaking events.
• You will report to the Global Manager, Marketing and Product Management and to the Explosion Protection Consultancy Manager based in the US.

Your profile

• You are an industrial engineer, preferably within electromechanics, chemistry or process techniques. In addition, you can rely on at least 5 years of relevant experience in the explosion protection industry.
• You have a proven track record in conducting explosion safety consulting activities.
• You show good analytical skills; you quickly form an integrated picture in a complex environment and you give easily direction; you translate complex situations smoothly into an efficient plan of action.
• You are characterized by a hands-on mentality with the ability to quickly connect with others and you are a strong communicator.
• You are a strong team player and take up your role in order to assure efficient collaboration within the organization.
• You have a strong knowledge of the applicable codes and standards (EN/ISO, ATEX, VDI).
• You are willing to travel domestically and internationally regularly to meet with customers, distributors, industry experts and Fike personnel.
• You are fluent in English, both verbal and written. A good knowledge of German or French is a plus.
