General Accounting Associate

We are looking for a General Accounting Associate. This person is responsible for the GA processes of some Lilly’s legal entities in Belgium and in The Netherlands.
Responsibility for Lilly’s financial processes is shared between the affiliate and the Lilly Shared Service Center (SSC) in Cork. Affiliates are accountable for local statutory reporting and compliance with local tax regulations.
Your Key Responsibilities
GA Process
Ownership and maintenance via workflow of GL accounts, cost centers, Internal Orders structure
Initiate accounting entries (Journal Voucher) and attach high quality documentation
Coordinate and ensure quality of accruals and prepaid
Perform complex and judgmental accounts reconciliations
Ensure local closing activities
Enforce timeliness and compliance in the intercompany billing process
Local statutory reporting
Ensure local statutory reporting for assigned legal entities
Ensure adequate records of above activities are maintained either locally or at the Shared Service Center
Work as key contact for audits of EY and internal auditors
Contribute to provide with the financial information requested by the Work Council.
Proactively monitor and anticipate regulatory changes which can impact accounting/finance business processes and practices.
Controls

Partner with local Controller and Tax Manager to provide controllership, finance and compliance leadership to the affiliate(s)
Adhere to corporate financial policies and provide training to employees when relevant
Drive and ensure Financial Responsibility and Authorization Procedure compliance
Perform the role of Buying Desk (Control of Purchase Requisitions and other associated tasks)
Conduct Travel Expense Report Audit
Back-up

Ability to ensure basic business continuity in other legal entities in case of colleague’s absence (JV, closing, accounts maintenance, reconciliations) such as:
Drive and ensure Financial Responsibility and Authorization Procedure compliance
Perform the role of Buying Desk (Control of Purchase Requisitions and other associated tasks)
Conduct Travel Expense Report Audit

Profiel:
Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent in accounting
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience preferably in an SAP environment
Proven problem-solving skills
Fluent in Dutch and French
Good command of English
Good communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, teamplayer
US GAAP and local GAAP knowledge
