General Manager – Combo ibis & Novotel Brussels Off Grand Place

What you will be doing:

Customer Service

• Drive the highest levels of service quality making it a real and visible differentiator in the marketplace.
• Ensure a proactive approach to guest feedback, with appropriate follow-up & training.
• Look at innovative ways to continuously improve customer service with the team.
• Builds strong relationships in the local marketplace, acting as an ambassador for the hotel in the community.

Financial

• Maximise the financial result within all the departments , through driving sales and rigorous application of cost controls, looking also for synergies over both units.
• Assist in optimisation of RevPAR and space in both hotels through liaison with Reservations Manager, Rooms Manager & Sales and the respective experts.

Human Resources

• Coaches and develops responsible HODs.
• Coordinates recruitment, training and development of staff, including front-line staff, applies synergies where possible.
• Promotes the values of Accor and keeps Heartist alive in the hotels.
• Liaises with both HOD teams to encourage optimum joint performance.
• Plays a full part within the overall life of the hotels and the network.

Condition of Building / Health and Safety

• Ensure good practice in Hygiene and Health & Safety, both for the benefit of talents and guests, in accordance with the Accor Belux Health and Safety Policy and legal requirements

Your experience and skills include:

• Proven experience in hotel management within the Brussels hospitality industry, economy and/or midscale
• An experienced and dynamic leader
• Confirmed experience with unions and social dialogue
• Vision to drive performance through initiative and decision making
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent financial and analytical insights with a proactive approach
• Commercial know-how
• Languages: fluent in Dutch, French and English

Your team and working environment:

• Working in two hotels with a total of 324 rooms (184 ibis, 140 Novotel), 2 bars and a restaurant located in the heart of the city
• Leading and coaching a team of 85 employees/HEARTISTs (40 ibis, 45 Novotel)
• Working closely together with other hotels from the network in the perimeter
