Head of Channel & Customer Marketing

The Head of Channel & Customer Marketing defines the vision and strategy of Consumer Healthcare categories at customer level. The leader implements advanced analytics and insights, customer marketing and category management principles and processes, driving category and brand growth and optimizing profitability for Consumer Healthcare and their customers in a mutually beneficial way to deliver profitable growth (NRM) and winning competitive advantage.

Your responsibilities:

As Head of Channel & Customer Marketing you will:
  • Align the commercial focus for the different brands and categories and decides on the distribution, promotion and category management of all covered brands in the BeLux
  • Be accountable for all country level trade marketing, customer and shopper activation and below the line activations.
  • Deliver world class commercial solutions along the shopper journey by committing to unleash customers, shoppers, and expert insights and values and truly thinking shelf back. Development of trade marketing is expected on the strategic level.
  • Be responsible for the day to day management, including accountability for its performance and relationship management with a key focus on development, of the team.
  • Coach the team to deliver commercial results and high level collaboration with customers and sales department. Build strong, collaborative relationships with senior customer contacts and internal departments
  • Manage a team to deliver optimum cost control and availability at point of purchase, driving category and brand growth and optimizing profitability for Consumer Healthcare and their Customer in a mutually beneficial way to deliver profitable growth and winning competitive advantage.
  • Lead a high performing team through effective talent management, coaching and stretching differentiated development plans that develop individuals to their potential.
  • Align all in store execution plans for all accounts and prioritizes in line with budget requirements and clients demands.
  • Coordinate the right distribution and shelf presentation of Consumer Healthcare product assortment on shelf over the different categories, the POS development creation process over the different categories or customers and the evaluation of key promotional activities and share between the customer marketing manager’s best practices & learning’s.
  • Align the customer marketing activities with the Category Management projects and creates ongoing business partnerships between both areas.
  • be responsible for creating an added-value link between commercial, brand marketing and sales.
  • Actively participates in Area Commercial Excellence projects, member of BeLux Leadership Team

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • A Graduate/Master level University degree in Business/Marketing/Economics or other commercial specializations
  • Preferable min 5 years of experience in FMCH and/or retail.
  • Experience in customer marketing, category management and/or commercial management.
  • People management experience: used to directly lead a team of customer marketing managers, category managers, trade marketers and/or shopper experts.
  • Strong knowledge and comprehension of the Belgian market evolutions on customer and category development area.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Belgian retail / pharmacy and expert HCP environment.
  • Experience of dealing with complexity across organizations.
  • Fluent spoken and written Dutch, French and English
  • Ability to work in and manage a matrix environment
