The Role
The EIT Digital Head of Finance is accountable for the operational financial management of the organisation. This includes operational financial and administrative controlling of EIT Digital IVZW and its Legal Entities; the monitoring of costs, revenues and income streams, forecast financial results, manage budgets and conduct risk management and ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations. The Head of Finance is also responsible for the financial coordination of the Grant Management cycle, including the support to Partner organisations and the reporting to the EIT and EC and other public funding agencies.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations;
- Supervise a delivery of the accounting team;
- Support the PMO for the allocation of resources to project and activities;
- Manage cash flows;
- Conduct profit and cost analyses;
- Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results;
- Controls budget of all legal entities;
- Conduct risk management assessment;
- Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential financial information;
- Recommend cost-reduction measures in collaboration with Procurement and Contract Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSc/BA in business administration or related field;
- At least 10 years of relevant experience. Sound understanding of administrative processes. Experience in accounting and reporting is a requirement;
- Experience with Horizon Europe grant management and EU funding rules and guidelines;
- Experience working in fast paced environment and/or in an international organisation is an advantage;
- The candidate is to be proactive, service-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and motivated to drive continuous improvement based on sound analysis;
- Good communication and outstanding organisational skills, including logistics. Proficient in MS Office tools and applications as well as common virtual presence tools and technologies.
Languages
Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of other European language is highly desirable.
Place of employment
Brussels or other EIT Digital office in Europe.
