Make your mark for patientsTo strengthen our Devices, Packaging & Wearables Tech. department, based in our hub in Braine L’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Industrialization Senior Expert.About The JobYou will participate to all activities linked to development, design validation and industrialization of secondary and tertiary packaging within UCB global packaging operations internally and externally; the scope being global covering development and commercial operations.You are an expert of the related supporting processes, which includes packaging user requirement specification, design validation, industrialization, Technical drawing for artwork process and supporting the technical database (in support of the UCB Commercial Global products).The scope does not cover shipping qualifications or cold chain related development activities.You will work withYou will be working for the Industrialization Team in the Secondary Packaging and Artwork, part of the Device, Packaging and Wearable Technology. The team assures all secondary and tertiary packaging components are safe to be used for commercial activities for launches of new product and during the life-cyle management of more established. We also act as expert regarding any packaging componentsWhat You Will Do
  • Lead projects from initial design concepts up to the industrialization completion and lifecycle management of secondary and tertiary packaging solution.
  • Deliver technical expertise to support UCB sites, UCB affiliates as well as CMO’s to ensure effective processes, optimize capacity utilization, quality, CoGs reduction and Green objectives. Lead project groups, if appropriate. Support other business partners (purchasing, marketing, ….) in case of specific requests.
  • Project Management, including but not limited to change control management, where appropriate, communication in the team project and to stakeholders and management
  • Assure appropriate understanding (technical aspects) of legislation, international standards and guidelines on secondary/tertiary packaging requirements and implementation within UCB’s development and manufacturing activities.
  • Act as subject matter expert for optimization and troubleshooting on secondary/tertiary packaging activities & components within the internal and external UCB manufacturing environment.
  • Participate to Secondary Packaging & Artwork (SPA) Development and Industrialization strategy and participate to 10 years plans and Long-Range Plan for packaging operations, supported by the head of SPA department, SPA Development lead and SPA industrialization Lead
  • Participate to the Team organization concerning: objectives definition, personal development, planning, feedback, documentation update, junior expert coaching – as appropriate. Support Industrialization Experts on the technical, process and project management aspects and is responsible for a process segment and improvement.
  • Participate to the operational team management as a back-up – as appropriate
  • Project leader for multi-site projects (e.g. anti-counterfeiting, Serialization….)
  • Lead multifunctional teams to ensure tech transfers, validation, investigation, and business support activities to internal and external sites for secondary packaging activities for existing and new products.
  • Supervision of industrialization activities of 1 or 2 packaging sites, considering:
    • Develop and assure the communication with packaging site
    • Define priorities for projects and improvements and their communication
    • Is accountable for industrialization projects delivery with defined packaging sites
    • Define ways of working, communication and continuous improvement with the packaging site and other stakeholders
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
  • Proven experience in secondary/tertiary packaging manufacturing environment
  • Significant operation management in GMP environment: 5-10 years
  • International Exposure in pharmaceutical project management (tech transfer, product launch, new regulation)
  • Ability to balance efficiently multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong both analytical and conceptual thinking, able to understand and get clear picture on complex, technical and business issues
  • Ability to be involved into multi-functional teams, influence others, hold accountability, results orientated, effective at networking, able to manage complex projects from development through commercialization and to attain results, with internal and external stakeholders
  • English proficiency is mandatory, French is an asset
  • Autonomous, self-starting attitude, problem solving oriented, pragmatic
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Can-do attitude with a positive mindset
  • Ability to support team growth as an experienced colleague
  • Experience in Artwork management is a plus
