JOB AND CONTRACT TYPE:

Full-time permanent position.

EXPECTED START DATE:

The expected starting date is March 2022 or as soon as possible.

LOCATION:

(S)he will be based in Leuven (Belgium), the Head Quarter of EIT Food

Travel (estimated 20%-30% of time) within Europe can be expected (post COVID-19).

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Being part of the Innovation Functional Area team, reporting to the Innovation Director
  • Being responsible to define and implement new processes, and develop new strategic initiatives to enable delivery of a better portfolio in line with internal strategic objectives including achievement of EIT Food Impact Goals
  • Having a central role within the team and coordinate day-to-day work and requests, keep accountability of results, perform strategic analyses of data
  • Co-responsible to shape and implement the Innovation strategy with a focus on value creation, market impact, financial autonomy of the KIC and consumer involvement.
  • Replacing Innovation director in internal and external meetings and events
  • Steering and providing guidance throughout their life-cycle, to a portfolio of European projects from kick-off to performance-monitoring, reporting and post-project KPIs achievement, by fulfilling the necessary requirements. Performance monitoring is meant to assess the project situation throughout the year, in terms of achievement of proposed activities, impact and commercialization strategy.
  • Actively supporting the process of launching new Call for Proposals, contributing to Guidelines, organising training and support for the applicants, support the evaluation process, etc..
  • Collaborating with the other Functional areas of EIT Food (Education, Business creation and Public Engagement)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, partners, to shape, develop and market the portfolio

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Food Technologies, Food Engineering, or Agronomy or similar
  • Experience in project-Management and portfolio manager
  • Excellent English (C1 level) and fluent in at least another EU language

Experience:

  • At least 6 years Experience in a leading role within the Agri-Food Industry and/or Retailing or Food Services in an Organisation with commercial purpouses with Market introduction (R&D, product development, innovation management, commercialisation, new products launch, etc.)
  • At least 2 years experience in managing European Innovation projects (Horizon Europe Framework)
  • Knowledge of project and program management methodologies, confirmed by relevant managerial experience
  • Working knowledge of financial mechanisms in commercialisation and ROI in Innovation
  • Understanding of the EU framework programs
  • Previous experience as Programme manager in an EIT KIC or as Project leader for a European project, is a strong plus
  • Business related qualifications is a plus
