Job Description


We are urgently looking for a Java Developer.

We want to be transparent about what we offer: a complex application that processes a huge amount of data, and that requires constant adaptations to cope with new data sources, new syntaxes and new semantics. It does not involve web technologies (i.e. a fairly simple web interface, no web services) and part of the architecture is already in place. Within that context, I fear that a senior candidate might lack motivation and a junior candidate might find it overwhelming. We are therefore looking for someone a bit in between (i.e. enough experience to be very proficient in Java, able to work with limited supervision and eager to learn to evolve from pure development to architecture).


Qualifications


Our client is looking for someone who would work on an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) application. The main challenge is the volume of data being processed and, as a consequence, performance optimisation is key. This requires an extensive knowledge of the Java programming language and the Java platform, and a good understanding of Relational Database Management Systems. Experience with Spring Boot, secure coding, Mongo and Elastic Search would be an asset.
