Your Team And Your Responsibilities

Team/division description

Are you a lawyer with a keen interest in privacy and technology, ready to assist one of the largest car manufacturers in the world in its transformation to a major player in the mobility area? Then we might be looking for you!

TME’s Privacy team is part of the Legal and Compliance Division and is responsible to ensure that the company acts in compliance with the applicable privacy legislation. The Privacy Team is a valuable strategic partner to the business and supports strategic and operation activities in a proactive way.

The Legal and Compliance Division is a dynamic and internationally diverse team, which works closely with the business. It provides high quality legal support and advice to the management and business divisions of TME, as well as to its manufacturing and sales & marketing entities in Europe. It advises on a broad range of matters, including corporate law, IP and IT law, brand protection, competition law, contract law, product liability, data protection and privacy law, environmental law and regulatory matters.

The ideal candidate is a lawyer with a demonstrated knowledge of European privacy & data protection law and an interest in ITC law. A basic understanding of IT is a distinct advantage, although not a strict requirement.

This Will Include Among Others

Your main responsibility will be to assist the business with pragmatic legal advice in order to promote the development of new systems, applications and processing operations in the automotive field and new mobility.
  • Being a valued partner for the business in the development and implementation of new products and services;
  • Directly and pro-actively liaising with the business and corporate divisions to support and assist them in their personal data management activities;
  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing data processing contracts;
  • Actively managing and supporting “privacy by design” activities, the related risks assessments and risk mitigating measures;
  • Managing risks and impact related to personal data incidents;
  • Supporting vendor management (selection / contracts / audits);
  • Providing training to employees to raise their compliance awareness;
  • Managing and improving existing policies and procedures;
  • Following up on relevant regulatory/legislative developments.
You will also collaborate directly with our affiliated distributors and manufacturing companies, as well as with our non-affiliated distributors, across Europe.
