We, within our challenging procurement department are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Expert Engineer Steel Structures for the DEME Group based in Luxembourg.

Your responsibilities

• You continuously support the development of DEME’s “Contractor Requirements” for the fabrication of offshore steel foundations and related steel structures
• You support the technical review and development of design packages from a fabrication and TCO perspective during the entire tender and pre-fabrication stage
• You perform the technical evaluation of the responses of suppliers to RFIs (request for information) and ITTs (invitation to tender)
• You perform desk top assessments of bidders’ capabilities during the different tender phases
• You manage complex technical capability assessments at the premises of suppliers
• You are responsible for the management of TQ (Technical Queries) and OFI (Opportunities for Improvement) during the entire tender stage
• You prepare technical bid evaluation reports
• You evaluate post-award “Return of Experience” received from bidders
• You provide support to internal clients in respect of the fabrication of all relevant steel structures

Your profile

• You hold a master’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of proven experience in relevant positions in fabrication, engineering, or inspection in an EPCI-project driven environment
• You are holder of an International Welding Engineer diploma. Being in possession of a Welding Inspector Diploma and a NACE or FROZIO level is considered a strong asset.
• You are curious, analytical, meticulous, customer oriented and result driven.
• You are self-driven, take ownership, have the ability of being an excellent communicator on all hierarchy levels, and has the maturity for leading Technical Capability Assessment Audits.
• You are fluent in English, speaking and writing. Fluency in French, German or Chinese is considered a strong asset.
• You are willing to work from Luxembourg and to travel regularly abroad on business trips and limited mission worldwide, when required.
• You are familiar with MS Office and an expert in Excel and Power Point
