In other words, we need you !We are looking for a New Product Planning Senior Directorto support our growing portfolioin Galapagos!This position can be based in any of our European locations.Scope of the jobAs part of the global commercial build-out in Galapagos, the New Product Planning Director will be part of the New Product Planning team that is commercially evaluating internal and external early and late portfolio opportunities leading to a balanced commercial viable portfolio for the future.This role will report into the head of Commercial Headquarter in Galapagos.Your role
  • Play a pivotal role in the collaboration with our business development team to commercially evaluate opportunities for new products, companies for Galapagos.
  • Developing and proposing early commercial strategies, value propositions and a prioritized approach to potential label indications.
  • Work cross-functionally with the various internal development teams and Insights and Engagement team to conduct comprehensive market scanning on key disease areas including scanning new disease areas not in scope today
  • Communicate key disease area/market insights to relevant internal stakeholders, identifying considerations and implications for development strategies.
  • Develop global forecast models that accurately assess the market opportunity associated with pipeline candidates in different indications, develop NPV-based business cases and decision frameworks for evaluation of pipeline opportunities & to develop global strategic plans for pipeline assets.
  • Develop and maintain strong, internal partnerships with cross-functional colleagues (e.g. program team, commercial, regulatory, CMC, clinical, business development, research etc.) whilst developing and managing budgets for external agency/vendor partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop, update and maintain Target Product Profiles (TPPs) for early assets.
Who are you?
  • BS/BA degree in business, life sciences, or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD).
  • Significant years of relevant commercial experience in the biopharmaceutical industry including strong experience within global marketing and new product planning roles.
  • Outstanding strategic planning and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of commercial strategy, opportunity and risks for the Executive Team.
  • Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process including strategic, operational, and financial aspects.
  • Ability to synthesize findings and clearly articulate implications from multiple sources of information, including primary and secondary market research and data, and to formulate strong, supportable recommendations.
  • Detailed understanding of global markets (emphasis on EU, US) in terms of pricing and access environments, regulatory pathways and other factors that may impact a product’s approval and uptake.
  • Self-directed, accomplishment-driven individual with a strong sense of passion and urgency who can work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment, fostering open communication, mutual understanding and cooperation.
  • Proven ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced work environment including managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in the work environment. Manages competing demands. Change approach or method to best fit the situation. Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events with maturity and professionalism.
