POLITICO is seeking an Intern to join our Brussels-based Events Marketing team starting at the end of August beginning of September 2024 for a three or four-month period.

As a member of our dynamic team, you will dive into the vibrant world of events marketing. You will support the development, execution, and evaluation of marketing strategies for a diverse range of events.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with key marketing functions to drive audience recruitment and engagement. You will be monitoring marketing campaigns across our promotional channels and report on our marketing efforts to ensure the success of our events. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Events, Summits, and Sales, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of POLITICO’s operations.

  • Please note that for this role you need to be currently enrolled in a university.

What you’ll do:

  • Support marketing campaign planning and execution across multiple channels (e-mail, digital, social media, etc.);
  • Measure and report the results of events marketing initiatives;
  • Actively manage and improve POLITICO’s audience database to enhance our audience segmentation strategies.
  • Work closely with the marketing and Live (summits & events) teams to ensure our events are successful and help grow our list of prospects and potential premium users.

What you will need:

  • A keen interest in marketing as well as in politics and news;
  • A first experience in events management (school or professional)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team;
  • Fluent command of English, written and spoken. Knowledge of other languages, such as French and/or German is a plus.

Important internship details

Internships generally last three to four months. This position is only available for student training as part of university or graduate coursework. Please note that as per Belgian regulations, internships that are part of university or graduate coursework cannot be paid, however, compensation toward lunch and transport to the office is provided.
