We’re currently looking for a new Procurement Category Manager Logistics, a role essential to drive the value creation from the logistics supply base, minimize the Total Cost of Ownership and support the Company’s on time performance.

The role involves establishing and building appropriate relationships with internal stakeholders located in Europe and key suppliers to meet the targets, monitor the vendor performance and develop best practices. The scope covers all transportation modes and warehousing. It represents a spent of 60 M€ per year.

The key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Being the sourcing expert for the Logistics category and acts as the escalation point for major problems and issues.
  • Building, executing and maintaining all category strategies relevant to Logistics
  • Supporting the company’s strategic projects
  • Working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the company to ensure internal customer satisfaction. Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Performing supply market analysis and monitors supply markets. Benchmarking industry and evaluating new opportunities to be included in the sourcing strategies and supplier selection process.
  • Executing tendering processes and supplier selection to accomplish the highest possible savings and performance
  • Negotiating the strategic contracts
  • Managing the supplier portfolio in an evolving Supplier Life Cycle Management, improving their performance in line with the existing procurement KPIs
  • Communicating and aligning within the global procurement team
  • Performing risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Stimulating a culture of continuous improvement, constantly re-evaluating better ways of doing things.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/ other related discipline, Member of a professional body like CIPS desirable but not essential.
  • 5 to 7 years procurement experience relevant to the Logistics categories with a strong track record of delivering results
  • Successful stakeholder management
  • Experience of strategic sourcing process with a proven capability to analyse and develop strategies through to implementation..
  • Experience of active leadership of cross-functional project teams across multiple countries.
  • Strong change management, risk assessment and mitigation skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing contract law.
  • Experience of procurement KPI’s, development of balanced score-cards that link with business objectives and priorities.
  • Experience working in a fast paced lean business culture such as venture capital or private equity organisation is desirable.
  • Experience of project management
  • Command of English language is essential
