Aalst, BelgiumAs a Procurement Sustainability OfficerYou will be part of the Procurement Performance & Excellence team and be responsible to steer, develop, manage and support the Procurement sustainability journey - working in close collaboration with the Procurement community as a whole and key internal and external stakeholders playing an active role in our sustainability journey.We Count On You For
  • Develop sustainability maturity and awareness across the Procurement organization in line with vision, mission & values of Jan De Nul Group
  • Work with the Corporate Sustainability team and network to develop initiatives at the Procurement level, and report on actions & progress (different sets of KPIs, reports such as an annual integrated report, etc.)
  • Lead & support the different activities related to the management of the ESG risk in the supply chain (Due Diligence Act; Value Chain & Country risk matrix, ...)
  • Manage the relationship with external partners such as Carbon Disclosure Product and Ecovadis for suppliers’ assessments & ratings
  • Set up the framework to help buyers leverage, develop and monitor sustainability projects from our suppliers, including the reduction of the Greenhouse gas emissions of our suppliers (upstream scope 3)
  • Assist category managers with implementing a sustainable strategy tailored to the relevant product portfolio.
  • Conclude sustainability assessment of strategic suppliers
  • Define and implement relevant KPI’s on corporate and supplier level
ProfileYou have obtained a master’s degree (or equivalent by experience) and have minimum 4 years of experience within procurement. You have a special interest in sustainability topics and preferably, you already have a first experience in sustainability development and operational management. You have good interpersonal & communication skills and are fluently in English. Knowledge of other languages is a plus. You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including problem structuring, synthesis and developing a global vision.Besides strategic thinking, you have a business, customer oriented mind-set. Having an impact or influence gives you energy. You are able to work collaboratively in a multicultural and international environment.What we offer
